It is the management policy of Dougwell Ltd. in so far as is reasonably practicable, to seek and provide safe and healthy working conditions for the company's employees, providing information, training and supervision and enlisting the active support of all employees in achieving such conditions.
It is Dougwell policy to:
- To promote standards of health, safety and welfare which comply with all Irish and EU standards.
- To, as far as possible, provide a safe and healthy working environment for Dougwell employees and all others who may be affected by our work.
- To promote a culture of health and safety awareness among staff and site-visitors.
At Dougwell we believe in doing the job right first time, every time. To that end we carry out periodical safety and quality checks on all plant, vehicles and active job-sites. Quality is important to us because it's the basis on which we can form lasting relationships with clients who can trust our work against the test of time. Quality like safety and work-practice is approached by Dougwell in a serious way.
Dougwell is an equal-opportunities employer. All of our Plant-Operators, Lorry-Drivers and Support-Staff are fully trained for their particular role, trained in manual-handling, are Safe-Pass holders and this training is up-dated frequently. Where appropriate they hold the correct Plant Operator Tickets and Driver's Licenses. It is Dougwell policy to comply with all Irish and EU employment-legislation. And this year staff will receive additional training with the roll out of the new Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) programs across Ireland and the EU for plant drivers and lorry drivers respectively.
At Dougwell we favor ethical and responsible business practices, no where is this more true than in our concern for the environment. One of our main considerations when deciding on Hitachi Excavators and Volvo Trucks are the impressive anti emissions features of the Hitachi Zaxis engine and Volvo's Add-Blue system. In the coming two years we will be up-grading our permanent plant and transport fleets with newer, even more efficient machines.
